You can also tell them your situation and that you are having trouble paying the minimum balance and that you need to lower the interest rate to make it easier to keep paying. If you already have a poor credit credit card because of issues in the past in may not matter that you are paying the bill on time and never had a late fee. The company may still raise your interest rate to something that is obscene. You have to be able to talk with the companies and find that one person who can help you. You also want to make sure that the balance on the card remains below 49% or that you pay off the entire balance each month in order for it to help you increase your credit. When you have poor credit, it is hard to get any other card other than the poor credit credit card because most companies will not want to deal with you. You need to have the card for a year with good standing and then trade out the card with a better credit card in order to get a better deal and keep building your credit history |
